Stageworks Academy of the Performing Arts is proud to present the newest Fine Arts Playschool serving Leduc and Area. Stageworks strives to provide affordable high caliber arts education through instruction and performance in theatre arts including drama & dance.

Stageworks is a local organization and proud to offer the very best performing arts educational experience since 1982. That sense of community is exemplified through our classes and performances.

Every Parent/Guardian will receive a SMILE Handbook as a resource.

Please ensure to take the time to go through areas in the policy section which elaborate and expand on the rules listed.

Rule 1

Students must be fully potty trained to participate in the SMILE program.

Rule 2

Punctuality is very important and students must attend classes on time to avoid disruption in the class.

Rule 3

Payment in full or a payment plan must be in place before sessions start

Rule 4

Any comments or posts perceived to be hateful towards SWA’S staff, students or families will not be tolerated.

Rule 5

Students will be expected to follow the routines and procedures of the SMILE program.

  • Spring Break March 31st - April 6th
  • Easter Weekend April 18th - 21st
  • Victoria Day Monday May 19th


Parents are invited to view the last 15 minutes of class at the end of every month for a small showcase of what we have been learning.

CULTURE CORNER

Creating a positive and inclusive environment helps children develop a sense of appreciation for diversity from an early age.

SMILE will introduce a new culture every two weeks.

SMILE will engage children through creating masks, paintings, or crafts that reflect diverse artistic traditions.

SMILE will teach children simple dances or songs from different parts of the world.


Diverse Preschool Children

FINE ARTS PLAYSCHOOL

  • Visual Arts: Painting, drawing, and crafts provide a canvas for self-expression and imagination.
  • Music: Introducing children to the joy of making music through singing, playing instruments, and rhythm activities.
  • Dance: Exploring movement, dance, and coordination in a lively and supportive atmosphere.
  • Drama: Building confidence, communication skills, and creativity through dramatic play, storytelling and puppetry.

LEARN FROM THE LAND

"Learn from the land" is a philosophy that emphasizes the importance of connecting with and gaining knowledge from the natural environment.

Students in the SMILE program will learn about the land around them and explore nature and all it has to offer, and the stories it tells.

Students will develop a deeper understanding of their connection to the environment.
